Winter 2011 News: For under 3’s & over 3’s

Where is Roly Poly?

I got a frantic phone call from a Gramma friend this morning. “Where is Roly Poly?” she asked. “Sam is standing here by the cd player waiting for me to find it.”  My friend was spending the day with her 18 month old grand son.  He and his Mom listen to our cds all the time, and he is certain that Gramma knows all the songs, too.  Well, she will soon!
Here is our recipe for a happy day with grandparents:  3 little rhymes and songs to get you through!
Our favorite hand tickle:
Round and round the garden,
like a teddy bear! 1 step, 2 steps, tickle under there!

And our favorite fingerplay:
Here’s a cup & here’s a cup, and here’s a pot of tea.  Pour a cup and pour a cup and drink it up with me!

And of course, our very favorite:
Roly poly, roly poly, up and down!  Up and down!  Roly roly poly, roly roly poly!  Up and down, up and down!

If you need help remembering the tune, check out our cds or dvds.  They are in the library, for sale on the  merriweather.ca website, or check out the video clips on our website:  www.sallyjaeger.ca
