Workshop

Stories to Take & Tell

½ day workshop for ECE, primary teachers, librarians and anyone who works with young children

Are you looking for ways to spark language skills and thinking in your classroom?  Share stories and rhymes!  It’s easy and fun and it works!  Sally will show you how to build your own collection of portable favorites in this interactive, hands on workshop! Perfect for anyone who works with young children.

We’ll start with Mother Goose and experience why this material works!  Sally will share new ways to play old rhymes, and how to adapt material for a range of ages and abilities.  We will discuss program planning vs spontaneous play throughout your day.  Discussion of resources and a Storytelling Swap of your favorites will wrap up the workshop!

Comments from adult participants at the 13th Annual Reading Circle

Conference at Frontier College in Toronto, Ontario in 2005:

“Lively, enthusiastic presenter. Hands on rhymes to add to my collection.”

“Fantastic! Exactly what I was hoping to see, experience & hand outs had most of the songs we did!

“Sally’s workshop was wonderful – she has a great presentation style. Repetition helped us learn the words. The hand out was very helpful.”
